Comments:     Walked the strand in the early morning hoping to flush the Short-eared Owl(s) that have been seen recently.
18 species (+3 other taxa)

Canada Goose  25
Black Swan  1     Of unknown provenance, but presumably the same individual that was seen last year and believed to be an escaped bird.
Greater/Lesser Scaup  500     Several large rafts seen up river as i drove into the parking area.  No pullouts are available for close sightings.  But could be scoped from the second set of pilings up on the path to ensure Scaup.  Most looked to be Lesser but there could of been some Greaters in there with them.
White-winged Scoter  3     Three individuals, one male, seen off the first set of pilings.   They were preening and the white secondaries on all three birds, and on one bird the pale under wings, were seen.

Great Blue Heron  3
American Kestrel  1

Western x Glaucous-winged Gull (hybrid)  X     presumably WExGW but could be HERxGW as well.
